Happy Tuesday! I am still recovering fro my weekend away in Taos last weekend. We had the MOST amazing time and if you follow me on Instagram then you probably saw all of my stories and videos throughout the weekend. Taos is so beautiful and I’ll get a full post up soon on our trip. In the meantime, I wanted to share another work look for y’all that I’ve been loving lately and also talk about a piece you need in your closet for post-grad days. [Read more…]
Hi Friends! Welcome back to AMS! I hope y’all are ready for holiday gifts galore coming to the blog the next month and a half. I don’t know about y’all but the holiday’s are such a cheery time and I love gifting items to family and friends that I know they will love. There’s nothing like putting a smile on the face of your loved ones. [Read more…]
I gotta say, I love these photos. I don’t know if it’s the trees, the vest, the shoes, or the backpack, but I love this winter outfit and everything about it. I’m preparing to run full force into the holiday and winter season. It gets really cold in Lubbock but the wind is what actually kills you. It’s awful and half the time I feel like I am going to honestly get blown away haha.
When I was first moving to Lubbock, we had heard that Winters are brutal. Not because of snow really (we only get about a day or two of snow) but that the wind gets so bad. Well now I’ve lived here three years and I can attest that YES winter in Lubbock is hard because of our wind. I’ve also shared that it tends to flood easily here as well. So, rain boots and resistant boots are a girls best friend come December-February. [Read more…]
I think we finally got our cold front! It’s been frigid lately in Lubbock but honestly not complaining. I’m so excited for fuzzy blankets, large scarves, boots, and oversized sweaters. I typically live in very relaxed clothing but every once in awhile Josh and I will go on a nice date night and I LOVE being able to wear my more ‘fancy’ clothes. Not that this look is super fancy but just being able to wear a skirt and dress up in nice boots is SO nice for me because I definitely get tired of wearing the same athleisure and sweaters all the time. Yup…. It’s Friday and I’m still tired. I talk to my mom everyday on the phone and never end a phone call without saying ‘I’m tired today.’ My mother then tells me I tell her that everyday lol. But I really am!! I get little sleep each night and my schedule each day is jam packed. Midterms have started and I’ve been studying so much and constantly feel like I have 100 things to still do. [Read more…]
Hey girl hey! It’s getting that time where my ‘winter’ titled posts are going to slowly become spring and preparing for warmer weather. While in Texas, we go from 30 degrees one day to 80 degrees the next. [Read more…]
We’re back to Monday y’all. 🙁 I have a full week of classes, and work ahead but happy to be back to my routines. Josh and I have started working out and I’m really ecstatic about that. [Read more…]
Happy Monday, lovelies! It’s nice to be back on the blog today. Last week, I only got two posts up. I was stressing about my Friday post but just started a small side job and had a lot going on and realized one of my resolutions was to stop stressing so much. [Read more…]
It’s a special Sunday today! I figured I would try out a post on this day today, as I know most spend Sunday’s lounging and resting. My Sunday’s are typically busy and a work day for the blog. On today’s agenda: Church, blog photos, grocery shopping, cleaning up the house, and waiting for one of my roomies to get home! I’ve been keeping our house cozy the last week but I miss my girls and having them around so much. I live with three other girls and one is coming into town today so tonight will be much needed girl talk.
On Friday, we got this beautiful flurry white stuff! Lol. It’s not often that we get snow in Texas and when we do it’s kind of a big deal. I put miss Marley in her sweater and we headed out for a walk and to take some photos, since we only get to take photos in snow like once a year. I wish we got it a little more often though- bundling up in beanies and scarves and opening up your windows to an all white ground is so special.
My quilted coat is SO warm- if you live in the North and want another large coat, this one kept me warm all day and I love the pockets to store my phone in. I layered it with a cashmere sweater, a thick scarf, and my FAVE pink beanie. Obviously, I don’t live somewhere where it snows all winter so I don’t feel the need to buy snow shoes/boots. So, I opt for my hunter rain boots and they work just perfectly for our little 1 inch snow days. Just wrap your pup up in a cute sweater and you’re both ready to take on the cold. Snow days are just way too fun sometimes and I hate it’s already almost gone.

Welllllll, I’m all packed up and headed back to Lubbock today. I’m going to miss my family so much but am excited to get back to my home. I wish I would’ve stayed a little longer but I was in desperate need of my every day work schedule to be back again. I now have time to hit the new year hard and plan blog content. I love going home but it’s good to get back to my other home too. [Read more…]
