One day, I hope to be the mom (in the far far future) that my mom has been to me. Caring, loving, open-minded, and calm. I respect my mom for always making sure I knew I could come to her. Going through multiple stages of life already, so many things change. Personally, from a daughters perspective, and growing up with friends who had over-bearing parents as well as super careless parents, I always knew I had a mom who cared but would never make me feel like less of a person when I messed up. My mom trusted me, trusted my actions and intentions, and while we all mess up (and I did PLENTY in my teenage years.. and still do), I always felt comfortable to talk to her about it and be open and honest. I hope my future daughter one day feels so loved by me and knows she can come to me through the good and the bad.
My mom means the world to me. She is one of the strongest and kindest people I know. I’ve become just like her the older I’ve become. I notice things I do everyday that is just like her. When I was in high school I would get so mad that my mom would have me make my bed and clean my room every day. I remember telling her each day that when I move out I was never going to make my bed and never clean my room because I could. LOL. Well here I am, living on my own, and I make my bed and clean my room every day. I can’t stand a mess and I just laugh because I know I’m becoming just like my mom and I’m perfectly ok with that. If I can be half the person my mom is one day, I’ll be happy.
My mom is fun, bubbly, and a huge extrovert/ talkative person. That is one thing I DIDN’T get from her. I’m like my dad in the sense of I like to be alone and have one on one time with people. I value my time alone and do better with small groups. My mom can talk to anyone and everyone and make friends anywhere. She pushes me out of my comfort zone and I’m thankful for that. I’m thankful for the person my mom is and the person she is still making me today. I may be on my own and will never live under her roof again, but she is still my mom and my role model and I learn so much from her and her graciousness. This Mothers day, I’m gifting my mom this L’occitane Lavender gift set. It smells amazing and has everything a momma needs to feel special and have a pamper night.
I love you mom, you deserve all the kindness and happiness in the world. 🙂
PS. Did you catch my last post last post about my mom!? I talked about four beauty tips she has taught me. XO Shop The Post:
