Girlfriends are the best. I’ve been so fortunate enough to meet the best friends in college. It’s ALL I prayed for coming into Tech. Y’all know I went to Marfa the other weekend and took a little BFF trip that was crazy fun. [Read more…]
We’re halfway through the week and I’m counting down until I’m on a plane to Dallas, Friday! But until then, I’ve been daydreaming about my little getaway last weekend to Marfa, Texas.
My roommate and I got so many messages about our trip so I wanted to share EVERYTHING we did, a little about Marfa, and what we thought about it! [Read more…]
Say hello to my favorite top at the moment!!! When I first started seeing the embroidery trend, I was a little skeptical to try it. I thought it was super cute, but not my style. When I saw this one I really loved the ruffles and decided to give it a go. Welp, I’m converted. Haha. I LOVE this top so much. It’s my go-to when Josh calls me and says to meet him for dinner or that we’re going out. I just love how a simple embroidered pattern can add so much to a plain button up shirt. I like it paired best with denim bottoms and then any kind of shoe whether casual or dressed up. [Read more…]
Happy Monday sweet friends! I had a crazy busy weekend filled with my best girlfriends. I loved it but am ready to hit the books this week and get on top of things. [Read more…]
Hey y’all, happy Monday!
A couple things here….
I’m counting down the days and seconds until this Friday! I get a full week of relaxation and I am SO pumped. A week from today, Josh and I will be in NOLA for Spring Break. We are extremely excited. I’ve been to Baton Rouge before when I was touring LSU a few years ago, but never to New Orleans…. and neither has Josh. [Read more…]
Hey y’all! It feels so awesome to be home. I drove back to Dallas Saturday morning and will be here for a little over two weeks! It’s always so fun to wake up in my old room to a house full of family and pets. Coco loves being in Dallas too. I secretly think she’s like her mom and craves the city life 😉 [Read more…]
The last of my NYFW adventures. I decided to put them together since Sunday was slower and Monday was a half day. I’m currently still trying to catch up on homework and notes that I missed and I’m slightly drowning but hey, it’ll get done!!!
Sunday was a day that was semi- more relaxed. Showrooms are generally closed this day so I couldn’t make any appointments, and shows are usually slim on Sundays. So I slept in a little bit this morning and then got ready with the girls and headed to a blogger brunch. There was a big group of us and we ate at a place called Sotto 13. This place was so darling and the ambiance was amazing! They are popular for their “family” style brunch where you choose a couple things and they bring out enough of each for the table. It was such an awesome meal! Afterwards, I went to the Moynihan Station to visit the Tressemme style salon to get my hair done. This was heavenly! My stylist gave my hair a cute side swept braid that went into a large fishtail bread and it was too cute. After that, I went to Soho to see my friend and we walked all around and then ended up in another restaurant called Tartinery and it was so adorable. We sat and I got a chia bowl (still not sure how I feel about it) but it was great to visit with him before heading back to the hotel to meet some more girls for dinner at this restaurant called Ayza NYC. It’s actually a wine and chocolate bar. They were so lovely and brought out a ton of things for us to try and eat/drink.
I wore this white breezy dress and then threw on my new favorite fall piece! This light pink bomber jacket will be on repeat this fall. Matched this look with some new patent booties that are to die for and under $60! The perfect brunch look in the city.
My last day and the most stressful! I got invited to a ton of shows this day and of course I was flying out of town…. So I tried to fit everything in but it left me rushed and stressed… I went to the Louis Verdad presentation at 11am which was one of my favorite presentations! Each piece was so wearable and focused on the denim trend. I was in awe of some of these pieces! From there I left and hurried back to my hotel to grab my bags and headed to the airport! It was a LONG day at the airport. I was invited to the rewardstyle event Monday night and that was the most disappointing thing that I had to miss. I heard it was incredible! I flew from New York to Houston, then back to Lubbock and landed around 11:50… cranky and exhausted haha. Thank goodness I’m settled back home and now dealing with the ton of laundry I have to do!
On Monday I wore this denim top that will be featured again in a separate post soon. I wanted to be comfy today so I went for a sporty bottom half. It was nice because after that presentation I threw on a t-shirt and jacket and left for the airport feeling so comfy.
NYFW was the most incredible experience I’ve endured and the friends/ people I made connections with will forever mean so much to me! So thankful for my friends and family who support me like no other! The love I feel constantly is so real!
Day 4 Look:
Sooooo…. I landed in Lubbock at 11:15 pm last night and my sweet boyfriend picked me up and took me to my house so I could see my roommates and my kittens! I was only gone for 4 days and I seriously missed my little college family so much haha. Today I have a busy day of catching up on school work. I posted about Day 1 of NYFW yesterday… if you missed it and want to read, click here.
Day 2 started around the same time as Day 1, 7:30 am. I really enjoyed spending my mornings [Read more…]
Hello from NYC! I flew in Thursday night and had a full day ahead. I wanted to share my fashion week schedule, events, restaurants, etc. every day with y’all. I’m currently on my way home to Lubbock and can’t wait.
Can I just say that this whole time I have terribly missed my roommates and two new kittens! One of my roommates and I bought two baby kittens on Labor Day and have been nursing them back to health and they are seriously so cute. When I left I was in total mom mode. I was like “Ok so… you know to give them their medicine twice a day, and if you have people over put them up..” to my roommate, she was like lady I got this haha but I seriously feel like we have two precious new babies and I hated being away from them!
Thursday was mostly my travel day. I flew from Lubbock at 10am to Houston, and then boarded a flight from Houston to NYC landing around 5:40 pm. I met up with one of my friends Natalie to Uber to my hotel. We are staying at the cutest little boutique hotel near Central Park called The Shoreham Hotel. They gave us an awesome media rate and I’m staying with three other fellow bloggers. Honestly, I grabbed something quick to eat at a market nearby our hotel, and then went straight to sleep!
My morning started at 7:00am where I woke up, got ready for my day and headed out into the city to find coffee and head to my first showroom appointment. I had a fun appointment with Baublebar viewing their showroom. I absolutely love Baublebar and adored viewing their collections. Whenever I update my jewelry collection, I always turn to them first. After an hour there, I had about a 4 hour break to eat and explore the city. We all went to eat at a LOVELY brunch spot by Madison Square Garden called La Pecora Bianca. Y’all have to put this on your list to eat at when you got to NYC next. We sat next to some of my favorite you tubers of all time. Alex Garza and Mallory Ervin. Both are so successful in the beauty industry and are the sweetest humans!! Once we ate, I actually sat my butt in a Starbucks for an hour to finish up my homework that I had due while in NYC haha…. #collegekidprobs. I ran back to the hotel to freshen up and then headed out to my first fashion week show. I went to the Chromat Hyperwave show at Milk Studios. It was SO fun and really interesting. From there I went to Katie Gallagher’s presentation which was definitely interesting haha! It was in a warehouse type thing and very intimate. It was great, other than the fact it was like 200 degrees inside. One of my other blog friends, Annaliese, from Southern Belle in Training came to NYC for this show so I got to spend the evening with her. After, I went to the Lulu’s Style Studio event which was a super fun party that I wish I could’ve stayed longer for. If y’all haven’t checked out Lulu’s you should!! They have such cute clothes. From there, we went to the Demoo Parkchoonmoo show at 9pm which was a great show! We ended our night at Shake Shack and then to bed haha. I had plans to go out afterwards with a friend from Dallas but y’all… I was not prepared for how tired these shows would make me!
As far as outfits, I wore this blush crop top with the cutest bell sleeves and a grey pencil skirt to my bauble bar appointment. Then I changed into my white frill skirt and snake skin shoes for my 3 shows for the night. I loved both of these looks and it’s always so fun to change for night time.
Check back tomorrow for Day 2 of NYFW!
